Suishou No Fune was play and recorded late at night at "UFO Space" in Beijing, China in August 2024. Five songs were selected from a playing that lasted just over two hours. With the exception of "The Lover's Shore" all songs are improvised playing and impromptu song. Perhaps because it was recorded late at night, many of playing and songs are related to the night, so the album was named ""YASOKA (Nocturne Songs)" meaning songs to think of at night.

While most of the playing and vocals/lyrics are reportedly improvised, the majority of songs center around the vocals, making them accessible.
The bass is a bit quieter, but combined with the great, delicate recording quality, it creates a rich psychedelic sensation that slowly builds and leaves you numb. You're simply overwhelmed by the inclusiveness of SUISHOU NO FUNE's music, starting with the two vocalists.

The opening number, “To the Moon,” features the bass weaving through the intertwining guitars with a free jazz-like speed.
Though suddenly over nine minutes long, it serves as the album's introduction, its sharpened roar signaling that this is just the beginning.

The second track, “Light of Life,” is led by Kageo, who also plays the vertical flute, including improvised lyrics.
His serene vocals, reminiscent of psychedelic legend “KOSOKUYA” member Kaneko Jyutoku but softened, radiate a positive light through his uniquely self-taught phrasing.
This eight-and-a-half-minute track also vaguely evokes The POP GROUP's “Don't Sell Your Dreams.”

Track 3, “Futari no Nagisa” (The Lover's Shore), features the only non-improvised lyrics on this album, penned by Kageo.
Though it's a quiet, lonely ballad where “Mikami Kan” comes to mind, the electric guitar still shines gently, and a superb guitar solo elevates what seems like a love song to something eternal.
Again, its 11-plus minutes fly by.

The fourth track, “Above the Clouds in Beijing” is a true 14-minute improvisation, yet a path is forged through the roaring soundscape by Pirako vocals, piercing straight through.
Her singing, blending like a nursery rhyme and folk song born in that very instant, embodies the duality of a childlike maiden and a bewitching woman.
The electric guitar's explosions only accelerate further.

The final number, “The Camel's Eyes Go Into the Deepest Night” slowly builds to its climax without feeling its 23-and-a-half-minute length.
The layered resonance of the two electric guitars is immense, while the bass guitar's lyrical quality subtly enriches the song.
Including Pirako's vocals, it's the peak of awakening.

Evoking the lineage of “Les Rallizes Dénudés” and “Fushitsusha,” yet avoiding self-indulgence, this is a unique psychedelic rock that transcends even wabi-sabi, born solely from Japanese soil.
Your entire body melts away in a dizzying sensation.

It makes you reconsider the possibilities of music.
This is undeniably a new masterpiece that must not be buried.
